Knowing is But Half The Knowledge
Profanity aspires to the condition of a hive-mind, that knows everything around everything, failing to get at the essence of the thing itself.
It's really unusual, yet it cosplays as real wisdom, potent and de-mystifying though it may be.
Viktor Frankenstein created his monster. Humanity has created its own-technology.
This technology has morphed into a many-headed Hydra. It has succeeded in replicating human intelligence, with newer iterations even more advanced. With each head cut off, the beast rears a new one, more uglier and deadlier than the first.
It's the same with this new-fangled android beast. It evolves. It adapts.
But the important thing is us having known about it all along. We know Skynet. We know and adore the Terminator franchise, purposely immortalizing Schwarzenegger's "I'll be back".
As said the machine to the human. As mocked the Hydra to Hercules.
Like I said, we've known and somehow we continue to take ourselves along this ride, this bumpy, excruciatingly painful ride. We know of the dangers. We know of the benefits. Of not just AI, but everything.
"Nothing new under the Sun."
The Creature watched as its master breathed his last. Humans, the imperfect half-forms as they've always been, have become like the monster, sitting at the bedside of their dying God.
Or so they know. But the real danger is in the belief.
Everything reminds me of Blade Runner. Of the techno-futuristic dystopia as fashioned by towering infrastructures and the surveillance capitalism of the myriad totalitarian Big Brothers that cripple men and free women.
Fun fact. We know about that too. Yet we hurtle towards it, nonetheless.
If we had questions for our Creator, they have already been asked. And answered.
Yet, we never had questions, we just needed a ruse to eventually come at being All-Knowing. We think we have.
There is no romance to all of this as tragedy is the overarching aesthetic. It is under the oppressive cloud of tragedy that mockery aspires to sanctify itself.
Deprivation is the rock upon which depravity builds its profane church.
Yet, we know that too.
"Some men just wanna watch the world burn".
Lo! Here, there be monsters who know "God is dead".
The land of wolves donning the skin of sheep.
We know, we know. We just don't care.
Let's have the courage to be ignorant, instead?
